BODY SELF AWARENESS

 HI everyone!!

During the first term our little 1st and 2nd grade students have been working a LEARNING SITUATION about body self awareness. To do so we have used active methodologies like CLIL or COOPERATIVE STRUCTURES in a COMPETENTIAL approach.
Our pupils have learnt the body parts and how to use them while playing and having fun.
At the same time we have reinforced content that they were already learning in Natural Science in an active and healthy way. Moreover, we have been fostering language skills like reading or listening, and CREATIVITY above all.

Apart from dancing "Head, shoulders, knees and toes", we have played different games like "The shadow", "The mirror", "Face to face", "Head, shoulders, knees and cone".
Besides, we developed some competential tasks. We will show you them.

They made body silhouettes with ropes cooperating as a team. Once they finished, we played a relay race in which the label the body parts. It was really fun!

We show them how to draw their silhouettes with chalk on the ground, and then they wrote the body parts name, different pieces of clothes, etc.

We have played a BODY PARTS BINGO RELAY RACE!👆

And finally, in the last competential task, they made their own body figures using P.E material and their creativity.
It's awesome to realise how they see and understand the world!

It has been a productive and interesting LEARNING SITUATION.
See you soon P.Eople!

HIGHER, FASTER, STRONGER...FITTER AND SUPER HEALTHY!!

Hi P.Eople!
During October our 4th grade students have been taking part in a fun and interesting activity...

THE OLYMPICS!!

The Olympics is a gamification project in which students compete and cooperate to get medals for their teams. By this way they learn things about athletics, the olympic games event, to mesure time and distances, to compare them,....
Apart from playing different games, and overcome different cooperative challenges, in which their basic physical capacities were involved (CATCH THE FLINGSOCK, HEAD SHOULDERS KNEES AND CONE, ETC), the have passed 6 easy and simple tests to be aware of their level of strength, endurance, speed, flexibility, agility and coordination.

As we can see in the picture, each student is a member of a different national team. 15 countries / teams formed by 5 people maximum took part in the competition. To participate they had to sign on an Olympic fair play code.

After each test, the best 5th results were showed in the podium. We had two categories, boys and girls, so each country could have more oportunities to get more medals.  The medals system increase students motivation.

In the leaderboard we can see the amount of medals that each country was winning.

The different tests that they did are the following ones:

1. Speed Test: The student must run 40 meters as fast as possible.

2. Jump test: With both feet togheter, students must jump as farthest as possible. They must land without moving their feet or touching the floor with their hands. With this test we can evaluate students lower body strength.

3. Shot put test: Students have to throw a ball from an overhead position as farthest as possible. They can't move their feet, and we can measure their upper body strength.

4. Flexibility: Using a swedish bench, the student must try to touche the farthest point without bending his knees.

5. Skipping rope test: During 30 seconds the student must jump forward as many times as possible. With this test we can evaluate students coordination, stamina, and agility.

6. Relay race test. And finally, students must cooperate and compete against the clock in a relay race around the handball court. The buton can't drop off and students must receive it in the relay zone marked by cones.

Do you have more ideas that can be useful to develop this project?Write your comment!!
See you soon P.Eople!!

WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE!! ANIMAL FLOW!🐒🐍🦀

Hi Everyone!
During October our students are involved in a new Learning situation:
MOVING LIKE ANIMALS!
🐵🦒🐴🐸🐻🐒🦘🐘🐍🐙🦀🦅🕷
In order to do so, we are using different approaches.
First of all we are implementing ANIMAL FLOW. It´s a training method in which we use only our body, performing animal movements to develop a good physical condition, improve our skills and habilities..

We are going to start  warming up with your P.E teacher Julio. You only need to copy the movements!(You can repeat this video twice or three times if you want):

Now you can try to move on to a higher level...Watch this video and try to perform the animal movements. They are more difficult than the movements that a did, but dont worry, try your best!

Secondly, we are using the topic of animals to play different games in wich students coordinate movements and skills, like running, jumping, hoping, climbing, crowling, slithering, walking sideways...and much more!

And to finish each lesson, we are practising KIDS YOGA, performing different postures related to animals or nature !It is helping us to be aware of our breething, to relax and stretch our body...

And everything from a competential approach in which our students propose and create animal movements and figures, being able to do it on their own!
Tell us...
Do you like Animal flow?
See you soon, P.E ople!!

ROLL AND BOWL!!🎳

Hi everyone!🙋

THIS IS THE LAST (BUT🌞🔥 NOT LEAST) MONTHE OF THE SCHOOL YEAR!!😃🎉AND THE HOTTEST ONE!

Our smallest students from 1st grade are learning a new and  fun game. ¡Bowling!🎳
It's an interesting sport to practice, as it's quieter than other sports, and temperatures in june are really hot very often.
Apart from improving their accuracy, and eye-hand coordination, our little guys are learning to control the scoreboard, adding and taking away points, writing them down in small whiteboards, and how to cooperate and work as a team.
To do so, we are using a competential methodology approach. During the game, students assume different roles, and they must develope all  the game on their own. They must control the scoreboard, set the pins, collect the bowls...So they can improve their self reliance and autonomy.
And everything while they're having fun!!
Here you have some basic vocabulary and it's main rules!
